McGregor adds his own favorite exercises and drills to a discussion of Clifford Lillya's legacy for trumpet study, along with a wealth of solo and orchestral excerts (most in a more complete form than found elsewhere), with a special focus on section performance.

McGregor studied with Lillya at the University of Michigan, and then went on to a successful career as an orchestral trumpeter for almost 40 years. He shares a wealth of knowledge, tips, and tricks in this impressive manual.
